UPDATED with new promos below: Pete Davidson looks right at home in his return to Saturday Night Live. SNL has released the first official promo featuring the SNL alum, who returns this weekend as host following a months-long strike delay.
Watch it above and three shorter new ones below.
In the teaser clip, returning SNL cast members Chloe Fineman and Bowen Yang enter an empty Studio 8H, exchanging stories about their summers. “Oh, it’s so good to be back,” says Yang to which Fineman agrees. Fineman shares she “actually met my birth mom” over the summer, and Yang says he “watched all of Suits.”
Enter Davidson who’s munching on a bag of potato chips.
Davidson looks at home because apparently he is, telling his former castmates he’s “livin’ here” while his apartment is under construction.
Only cast or hosts are allowed in the studio, Fineman tells him.
“Oh, OK. I’ll do that,” he shrugs.
“Do what?” Yang clarifies.
“The host thing. I’ll host,” Davidson says.
“Pete, that’s not how it works. You can’t just say you’re hosting,” Fineman says. Davidson then cocks his head with a sly smile.
“That was my Kenan face,” he jokes.
Davidson, who left the late-night sketch series at the end of Season 47 in 2022, originally was set to return to host the Season 48 finale when the season was cut short due to the writers strike.
Season 49 with Davidson as host and Ice Spice as musical guest kicks off on Oct. 14.
