Tribeca Sets NYC Evening With Larry David As First Event Of New Membership Program

HBO

EXCLUSIVE: Tribeca and HBO will hold an evening with Curb Your Enthusiasm creator and star Larry David on April 5 ahead of the series finale as the first event in a year-round lineup for Tribeca’s new subscription membership program.

David will reflect upon the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning comedy series a few days before it broadcasts its last episode after 12 seasons, and take questions from the audience at the screening room in Warner Bros. Discovery’s Hudson Yards headquarters.

“Larry David broke the mold with Seinfeld and then rewrote the rules with Curb Your Enthusiasm. His unique perspective and original voice has forever changed us,” said Jane Rosenthal, cofounder and CEO of Tribeca Enterprises, parent of the Tribeca Festival. “Saying goodbye to Curb Your Enthusiasm after a quarter of a century is truly a historic moment, and Tribeca is honored to play a small part as the co-host of this special event.”

The evening will include a new highlight reel of favorite scenes and moments from the show, which first aired in 2000. David will take questions from the audience.

The event comes at a somber moment for the comedy series as comedian Richard Lewis, a close friend of David’s who has played a fictionalized version of himself for the run, died of a heart attack late last month in Los Angeles. He had been living with Parkinson’s disease since 2023.

“Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me,” David wrote then in a statement shared by HBO. “He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that I’ll never forgive him.”
